About this site

This place exists because stories don’t leave me alone — and because some part of me still believes they deserve a quiet room of their own.

E.M. Serae is where I put the work that matters to me most. The pieces that grow into books. The strange little side paths. The thoughts I won’t say out loud anywhere else. If you’ve found your way here, it means something in the work reached you. I don’t take that lightly.

Subscribing keeps this space alive. It lets me write without algorithms pressing on my ribs, without noise or distraction, without having to package myself into something “engaging.” It lets you read in peace with no ads, no tracking, no tricks. Just words. Sent when they’re ready. Not rushed. Not padded. Just honest.

Thank you for being here. Truly. It means more than you think.

About the author

I started writing because loss left me carrying words I couldn’t set down any other way.
Stories became the place where I learned how to hold them. First in fragments, then in longer threads, then in whole worlds that grew out of the silence I didn’t know how to name.

The work I make now comes from that same impulse: quiet places, loud hearts, people trying to make peace with the shadows they inherit and the shadows they cast.
I don’t write to escape. I write to understand. To witness. To rebuild the things grief tried to take.

If my stories meet you in a moment where something in your own life is shifting, breaking open or slowly mending - I hope they give you a little steadiness, a breath you didn’t know you needed, or a reminder that you’re not moving through it alone.

Thank you for reading.
